Everything is ready for Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje to face this Saturday in the UFC 291 stellar fight, two of the best light weight division and they are hunting for a chance by title. It will be a rematch fight and both have declared themselves fit to challenge for the crown.
Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will dispute the belt ‘BMF’ in the star cartel cartel contention that will be held in the Delta Center Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Ranked number 2 and 3 in the rankings, they are ready for a war and to get closer to the fight with Islam Makhachev, monarch of the division.
Both fighters met at the weigh-in ceremony and delivered. Poirier weighed in at 155 pounds for this fight, while Gaethje registered 156 pounds, ready to collide in the cage.
A fight that makes sense and for legacy
” When my phone rang and they said, ‘It’s Justin,’ I felt those butterflies and said, ‘We have to do it.’ It’s been five years since I beat him, he’s done great things, I’ve done great things. Number two against number three, number one is fighting the champion. It just makes sense,” Poirier said.
“Same thing, this is awesome, but other than the legacy, it doesn’t do anything close to a world championship belt. I think this catapults any one of us, the winner of this fight, to that (title) fight, and that’s all it means,” Gaethje added.
