Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker had to step down from the band’s tour in order to attend an urgent family emergency. Initially, he didn’t offer any details on what exactly happened but the entire world assumed it had something to do with wife Kourtney Kardashian’s pregnancy. After days of radio silence, both Travis Barker and his wife confirmed that she had to undergo a sensitive surgery in order to save their unborn child’s life. Fortunately, the procedure was successful and they managed to keep the baby alive and well. This was a fetal surgery that needed to be kept under wraps until we knew the outcome. Now that the danger has passed, Kourtney Kardashian released a statement on her Instagram page.
Here’s what Kourtney wrote on her Instagram profile: “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this. As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
Is Blink-182 resuming the world tour?
Amid all the mystery over the urgent family matter Travis Barker had to attend, his fans were expecting an update by the man himself. Travis thanked God for the successful surgery and confirmed Blink-182 is resuming the world tour. Currently, they will continue their dates in Belgium next Friday. As far as the UK tour dates that were postponed, more information from the band will be released as soon as it’s available. The postponed dates are for the concerts in Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin. Fortunately, the news were positive and the band will be able to continue rockin’.
