“Disappointing” is the term that Magic Johnson used to describe the Washington Commanders’ 14-7 loss at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The NBA legend and minority owner of the NFL franchise is growing tired of the team’s play and wrote a message on social media seemingly aimed at Ron Rivera’s coaching staff and players.
“Disappointing 14-7 loss for my Commanders to the NY Giants. It’s hard to win in the NFL when you only score 7 points”, Johnson wrote in a brief but strong statement. The thread, posted on social media, quickly had hundreds of replies from fans begging him to take action. Many of them requested the hiring of an entirely new coaching staff.

The Washington Commanders now have a losing record (3-4)
After the loss, the Commanders have a losing record (3-4) and seem to be destined for another mediocre season. Team captain and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen vented after the loss in a profanity-laced tirade: “I’m f*****g tired of this s**t. I’m f*****g tired of this bulls**t. It’s been seven f*****g years of the same s**t. I’m tired of this s**t”.
Head coach Ron Rivera, meanwhile, didn’t offer an optimistic outlook for the team, simply stating that “anything can happen” in the team’s 10 remaining regular season games. In four seasons, Riverboat Ron has one playoff appearance and a 25-30-1 regular season record.
Washington will have the tough task of hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at FedEx Field next Sunday (1:00 pm ET) in yet another divisional game against the NFC East leaders.
