Reports have emerged revealing that there is a verbal agreement between Cruz Azul and Radamel Falcao, who joined LaLiga‘s Rayo Vallecano back in 2021.
The problem for the Liga MX side is that they currently have no available spot to register foreign players.
As reported by TUDN, Cruz Azul‘s directors are working on striking a deal to sign the Colombian star during the 2023 Clausura Tournament.
Cruz Azul want to bring in Falcao
Reporter Adrian Esparza detailed that the door at La Maquina would be open for Falcao if Christian Tabo leaves the club.
Tabo has an offer from another club and his departure would mean that there’s a free slot for Falcao.
Cruz Azul do not consider it possible to terminate Ivan Morales‘ contract, while they have committed to honor the contract of Michael Estrada.
A club in crisis
We are only three matchdays into the 2023 Clausura and Cruz Azul are already in crisis, as La Maquina got off to their worst start in Liga MX in 18 years, having recorded just one draw and two defeats.
Their worst start to a season was back in 2004, when they kicked off the Apertura campaign with three consecutive defeats.
