A one time bonus check for $1,500 will be sent out to residents of Arkansas starting next month, after the bonus payments were approved in May.
This stimulus is for teachers, as they’re being thanked for their work during the pandemic, which brought many difficulties, like transitioning to remote teaching.
The payments were made possible thanks to the certified salary schedule of $4.5 million that was put in place by the district, which will allow this $1,500 dollar payments to go out.

Teachers will also be receiving a “Certified Salary Schedule”, this will add $5,500 to the base pay that a teacher gets each year, bumping it from $38,500 to $44,000 for the 2022-2023 school year.
This new step schedule raised the salary of teachers by $3,471.81 in average, which represents an increase of 5.89%, with the increase for next year being between $800 and $6,300 for next year’s contract.
This increases were made possible thanks to the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief funds, which were approved earlier in the year.
