He has been with the Light Blues since he replaced Steven Gerrard at the helm in November of 2021 after the English head coach decided to move south of the border.
Would you take Gerrard back at Rangers?
One player he had a nightmare with was Scottish striker Greg Stewart as the attacker ended up being a flop in Glasgow. The centre-forward arrived on a free transfer from English Championship side Birmingham in the summer of 2019, after an underwhelming few months on loan at Aberdeen.
His poor form in Scotland lead to Birmingham allowing him to depart on a free transfer and Gerrard opted to snap him up to bolster his Gers side, despite his inconsistency in front of goal.
Rangers then decided to release the flop at the end of his initial contract as he departed on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, after scoring three goals in 33 games for the Glasgow giants in two seasons.
At the time of writing, Stewart is playing for Mumbai City in India after joining them in the recent summer transfer window. He has scored once in five Indian Super League matches for the club and the 32-year-old’s form whilst playing outside of Europe suggests that the Gers were right to let him go when they did.
However, his goal return before and after his spell at Ibrox makes it all the more confusing as to why he was brought in by Gerrard in the first place.
His numbers did not suggest that he would be a worthwhile signing for Rangers and that turned out to be the case as he struggled to make an impact at the top end of the pitch, which is why the club made a mistake with his arrival.
