Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez was a special guest at the first leg of the Liga MX final between Atlas and Pachuca and made it clear that he is now a fan of the Zorros.
Canelo’s confusing answer about his Atlas fanship
Canelo was confused because he said that, although he has never been a fan of any team, he is also a supporter of another team from the city of Guadalajara, Chivas. In short, not even Canelo understood himself.
The super middleweight world champion went to the Jalisco Stadium to watch the first game of the final and upon his arrival he was asked for a message for the Rojinegros.
“We are going to win, we are going to win again,” Canelo, who also has a great love for golf, said.
He was immediately asked if he is now a fan of Atlas, and answered: “Yes, I’m an Atlas fan“, and then he was asked if he was not a fan of Chivas before.
“I was never a fan of any team, but now I am one hundred percent with Atlas,” Canelo said as he continued on his way to enter the stadium. “I’m for both (Chivas and Atlas), but I’m for Atlas (now), to be honest,” Canelo, who was wearing a yellow shirt and glasses, said.
Atlas defeated Pachuca 2-0 in the first leg of the Liga MX Final
Canelo witnessed the victory of Atlas, current defending champion of Liga MX, by a score of 2-0 over Pachuca, a team that will be looking for a comeback when the second leg is played next Sunday at the Hidalgo Stadium.
At the beginning of the week, Canelo was in Mexico City to present the “No Golf, No Life” tournament, where he said that if coach Eddy Reynoso invited him to the Jalisco he would gladly come to support the Rojinegros.
Canelo was also the guest of honor for the start of the Jalisco Open and took advantage of his visit to the city to go to the venue, where the Rojinegros were looking for the first blow that would give them the possibility of going for second title in a row.
