Around 20,000 Eintracht Frankfurt fans attended the Camp Nou to watch their side’s Europa League quarter final second leg against Barcelona.
Initially, only 5,000 Eintracht fans were expected to enter the ground, as that was the number allocated to the away side.
However, it could be seen that the entire stadium had numerous white-clad German fans, from the main stand to behind the goals.
Some German fans bought tickets off Barcelona season ticket holders while other Blaugrana members bought tickets for them, while many Eintracht fans did so directly through the internet.
The club tried to avoid this massive presence of German fans and decided to cut off the online sale of tickets, but it was too late because the rival fans already had their tickets.
When Marc-Andre ter Stegen came out to warm up, he was whistled at by the German fans. At that point, just over half an hour before kick-off, the visiting fans were the majority inside the stadium.
