Students and families must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, in order to find out whether they are eligible for any need-based financial aid from the federal government.
When does the FAFSA open?
Each year, the form must be completed. The FAFSA will be available beginning on October 1, 2021, for individuals submitting applications as first-year students for the 2022-2023 academic year.
As early as October 1, all returning students will be able to complete the form. The FAFSA deadlines for incoming first-year students are often earlier than those for returning students.
The FAFSA deadline for students applying Early Decision or Early Action might occur as early as November. The deadline for Regular Decision applications will probably fall after the start of the new year.
Families can get extra assistance from us to complete and submit the form. Once the family has completed and saved the FAFSA, we can also evaluate the document. In either case, we want to be sure that the manner you fill out the form won’t have a negative effect on your ability to get financial aid.
