Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers fans clashed just two hours before the Europa League final at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday evening.
The unsavoury scenes unfolded at the beginning of two of the main streets leading to the stadium.
At the start of the San Bernardo bridge, which leads onto Eduardo Dato avenue, German fans attacked Scots, who had been building up to the final in local bars before leaving for the Sanchez Pizjuan, around two kilometres away.
A similar incident occurred in other nearby locations, with supporters from Frankfurt attacking the Scots, as police sources informed EFE.
It was 18:30 CEST, two and a half hours before kick-off, when at least five police vans arrived in the area to calm the disturbances.
The police had already arrested five German Eintracht Frankfurt fans for rioting and assaulting Rangers fans in a mass brawl that took place at midnight on Tuesday in front of the Seville Cathedral.
Thousands of ticketless fans are still in the city centre.
