While not officially dubbed a stimulus payment several states across the United States of America are distributing cash payments to residents during the summer.
One example of the payments schemes being rolled out is in Colorado, where residents can expect tax rebates of 750 dollars per person in the mail, provided they’ve filed their 2021 taxes.
“A strong recovery in parts of Colorado’s economy means that the state will soon hit the financial limits set by the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR),” said Colorado state treasurer Dave Young.
“The Colorado Department of the Treasury will ensure that there is sufficient cash flow to meet the TABOR refund, while also following our investment policy stressing safety, liquidity, and yield as the key goals for all of the taxpayer’s funds entrusted to us.”
Who is eligible for the Summer Stimulus Payments?
Those who have filed their state income tax return before June 30, 2022 are eligible to receive these payments.
Residents must also be at least 18 years of age as of December 31, 2021, and have been full-time residents of Colorado for all of 2021.
Finally the state Colorado plan will disburse checks of 750 dollars to individual tax filers, and 1,500 dollars to people who file their taxes jointly.
When will the Summer Stimulus Payments be sent out?
According to Colorado governor Jared Polis, residents in the state who meet the eligibility criteria will start seeing their payments shortly with payments set to go out this month.
“I know the struggles many people are going through, and I see it everyday in my community in Colorado Springs,” governor Polis said.
“People are working harder to pay for critical necessities like housing and food, these Colorado give back checks will help people.”
Are Other States sending out payments?
Yes, states like Pennsylvania, Florida, Minnesota, Georgia, and Delaware will start sending out payments shortly.
