Winning the case wasn’t enough for Johnny Depp’s fans, they wanted to see more blood flowing but it definitely backfired. In their stupid attempt to make Amber Heard even more exposed with the public, they uncovered a true PR nightmare for the person they attempted to defend through those unsealed documents. The bottom line of this trial is that both Depp and Heard have severe mental issues and they both made terrible mistakes during their relationship.
However, Johnny does have a much darker history due to his age. During the late ’90s, he dated fellow actress Ellen Barkin for a brief period of time. She was one of the people who testified during the trial and she didn’t have nice things to say about Johnny. In her testimony, she claimed Johnny was jealous, controlling and drank too much wine.
Quaalude before sex.
One of the parts that weren’t featured in the trial was a piece of the testimony where Ellen Barkin was drugged by Depp with a Quaalude before the first time they had sex. To those who don’t know, Quaaludes are one of the most famous prescriptions drugs from the late ’80s that were made illegal during the ’90s due to their toxicity. Ellen’s exact words in her testimony were: “Johnny gave me a Quaalude and asked if I wanted to f**k.”
This pretty much proves Depp is not the saint that all his fans want him to be, this pretty much leaves his image pretty damaged. If these accounts keep coming out, there might even be a chance for Amber Heard to get the appeal she wants. Can you imagine what would happen if everything the actress said about Depp was actually true?
This part of the testimony that was excluded from Barkin paints Johnny Depp as an abuser who even referred to his assistants as ‘pig’. She decided to ask the transcript writer to change a small part of her statement where she says their relationship went from platonic to romantic. All she wanted was to chance the word ‘romantic’ for ‘sexual’.
