Hasim Rahman Sr has said that he will happily take on both Jake Paul and Logan Paul back to back despite being 49 years old.
Rahman Sr‘s son was supposed to fight Jake Paul on August 6 but it seems that his dad is the one who really wants to get in the ring with the YouTuber-turned boxer.
The two-time heavyweight champion has told TMZ Sports that he would step in for his son and take on more than one of the Paul brothers.
“How about this?” Hasim says, “If somebody would sanction this, I will fight Jake and Logan back to back. We can go eight rounds a piece.
“Neither one of them will make eight rounds but we can sanction for eight rounds and I promise you, if I don’t knock Jake and Logan out, they win.”
Rahman Jr‘s fight with Paul at MSG on Saturday had to be scrapped and Paul has accused Rahman of ignoring the contractually agreed-upon weight limit.
The chances of Rahman Sr fighting both of the Paul brothers in one night are minutely low but the fighting talk does show how he views their boxing abilities.
Rahman Sr was asked if the fight between his son and Paul can be rescheduled for another time and he had a suggestion for how the contract can be honoured.
“If the public demands it, both sides can put up a million dollars in escrow. That way we can be sure that ain’t nobody gonna not make weight. If somebody miss weight, whatever the contractual demands are, they will be met or somebody [is] gonna lose their million dollars,” he said.
Throughout his career, Rahman Sr racked up a 50-9-2 record with 41 KO’s. He retired in 2014.
